Background
The Kingdom of Lesotho (formerly known as Basutoland), is a small, peaceful country landlocked and entirely surrounded by South Africa - to the north of the Drakensberg mountains. It is a mountainous country and one of the smallest in Africa. It has a population of just over 2 million with a pro-active government. Lesotho has a GDP per capita income of $2500 and a stable labour force of just over 800 000. The currency is the Loti (plural maloti).
